A Special Day for Merrindale at the Inaugural Gold Ribbon Sale

The inaugural Gold Ribbon Gelbvieh & Balancer Bull Sale, held at Coolabunia Saleyards on Saturday 26 September 2026, was a special occasion for our family and Merrindale Gelbvieh.

Seeing a Gelbvieh sale return to Coolabunia after more than 12 years meant a great deal to us. It was an opportunity to come together with fellow breeders, welcome buyers and supporters, and help establish a new chapter for the breed in our region.

We were pleased to sell two Merrindale bulls to Corrunovan Cattle Co. As new buyers to our stud, we sincerely appreciate the trust they have placed in our cattle and breeding program. We wish them every success with their purchases and look forward to hearing how the bulls settle into their new home and contribute to their herd.

Our thanks also go to Aderian Nixon for safely delivering the bulls to their new home. We appreciate his care and assistance in getting them there.

To Midge, Chris and the team at Aussie Land & Livestock, thank you for your support throughout the sale and for backing this inaugural event. Bringing a new sale together takes time, effort and confidence, and we are grateful for your willingness to take that journey with us.

Sharing the day with our family made the occasion even more meaningful. We are thankful to have had them alongside us, offering their support and helping us celebrate this milestone for Merrindale.

We were also delighted to raise $580 through canteen sales for the United Apostolic Volunteers Foundation, an organisation we are proud to be part of. Thank you to everyone who purchased food and drinks, and to those who helped run the canteen. Your support made this contribution possible and added another meaningful achievement to the day.

Thank you to our fellow vendors and everyone who attended, bid, supported or helped behind the scenes. Each contribution played a part in bringing the first Gold Ribbon Sale to life.

We are already looking forward to returning in 2027, building on this year’s foundation and working together to make the Gold Ribbon Gelbvieh & Balancer Bull Sale bigger and better.
